Yes, you will need to have a properly fitted riding helmet and riding boots to lesson. We do carry riding equipment for members while supplies last. Members who would like to show must purchase show attire.

Aberdeen Acres is about 30-35 minutes away from campus. If you do not have a vehicle, carpooling can be arranged with another person who lessons at your available time.

What style of riding do you do?
Lessons offered by our main barn are limited to English, however we can also arrange western lessons with our western coach, Alida. Our IHSA team has both hunt seat and western disciplines!

Do I have to compete in order to be part of the club?
Nope! You can compete as much or as little as you would like. We have members who only participate in lessons and some who don't ride at all. We also like to encourage our members to support our team at shows!

How many horse shows do you participate in during a semester?
Typically, the team participates in anywhere from 2 to 8 IHSA shows per semester. Some shows may be local or may require traveling a few hours.
